Novotel Basel City

The room was nice, AC worked well. Overall, we had a good experience and have booked a few Novotel hotels for future stays in other cities. We brought our dog on this trip and there were no issues. Like other Novotel properties they had a small touchscreen game in the lobby, which can be nice to keep the kids occupied during check in, etc. Location was decent. It was close to light rail stations to connect easily to the rest of the city.

The hotel is well placed, a short distance from the French/Swiss railway station, the terminus for the bus from the airport. It is easy enough to reach on foot or by tram (2 stops on Number 10 or 11 tram). The hotel looks quite new and is certainly in good repair. The room was large and very clean, with toiletries, water and coffee provided. Black-out blinds and double or triple glazed windows helped provide a good night's sleep, as did the comfortable, large bed. The bathroom was spacious and there was enough room for suitcases. Additionally, the safety deposit box was easy to use and meant that valuables could be left in the room. The provision of the Basel card, allowing for free travel on trams and buses and half price entry to attractions was an added bonus. Staff on reception were really welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Basel city centre.

Hotel is nice, clean, room was pretty spacious (we stayed 3 in the room). There is a great isolation and you do not hear any other guests, or we were lucky. Staff at front desk extremely nice and helpful. Location is good - you have tram almost in front of a hotel which takes you in less than 10min to the city center and the tickets are covered by hotel. Complementary water and Nespresso coffee in the room is a nice bonus. Parking - garage is in the hotel but the parking lot is not guaranteed, but we always found one

Well located hotel for exploring Basel - we appreciated the guest cards that allowed us to catch public transport throughout the city for free. The check in staff were very efficient and friendly. Room was a decent size although our 13 year old daughter found the fold out bed a little small and uncomfortable.

The rooms are spacious, clean and new. The location is central, there's a tram stop right around the corner where you can take the tram and be in the old city center in 6-7 min. The hotel gives you a "basel card" with which you can use public transportation free of charge.

Breakfast is very nice. We were in a different Novotel before this, the range is quite similar, this Novotel is just slightly bigger range and quality is better.

Location was perfect. It’s a few steps to the tram. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious. It could use some brighter lights to help seniors with eye problems see better while grooming.

The hotel is welcoming and the staff very helpful and friendly. The design is modern and functional. The breakfast buffet was inviting. The room size was rather generous. The location is somewhat of the city centre but there is a perfect tram connection which brings you both to the shopping district in less than 5 minutes. Also, you can walk to the main station is less than ten minutes.
